I love stress management tips so here is another one for you to try...
Listen to your favorite music or other soothing sounds to relax. Use your iPod, computer, home stereo or car radio and listen to music that calms your soul.
Try something new…listen to nature sounds, instrumental music, an affirmation CD (Louise Hay has some good ones at www.louisehay.com or make your own CD with your favorite music. Listen for at least 5 to 10 minutes.
A study conducted by the International Cochrane Collaboration found that listening to relaxing music can relieve symptoms of stress and depression.
Sit comfortably in your chair.
Place your feet firmly on the floor.
Place your hands in your lap with your palms facing upward.
Think of the word peace.
What's the first word or phrase that comes to mind?
Use that word to anchor your mind.
Simply breathe in and out silently repeating this word with every inhale and exhale.
Close your eyes and continue practicing this technique for a few minutes.
What will practicing this technique do?
Conscious breathing lowers your blood pressure, increases creativity, reduces stress, creates feelings of warmth and happiness, and decreases anxiety.
